OUR STORY

In 2019, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome the most beautiful Groodle puppy into our home. Daphne was stunning, she was fun but she was totally out of control! Although we were experienced with raising puppies over many years, this dog was different. Daphne seemed overly stimulated and unable to concentrate, especially in busy places like the park.

It was her seeming inability to be trained that led us to analysing her diet and we were shocked at the lack of regulation in the pet food industry. Many products failed to list their ingredients or the source of their components and those that did included a long list of additives, preservatives and a general lack of what we would call good quality food. We were surprised at the amount of meat products for sale in Australia that had origins in Spain, China and South America.

We decided to put the same amount of effort into Daphne’s diet as we would with any human child and from this, Happy Healthy Hounds was born.

All of our products are grain free and hand made made from scratch.
We don’t use ‘meat meal’, we don’t buy from commercial dehydrators and repackage their products as our own. We only use locally sourced, organic, human grade ingredients.
No tricks, no additives, no preservatives, no salt, no sugar, just great teats made for your dogs.

The change in Daphne’s behaviour has been incredible, whilst she is still full of fun she finds concentrating on tasks more achievable. Friends and family have noticed the difference and enjoy being able to spend quality time with her.

With a range of both meat based straps and meat free cookies, we have the perfect delicious snacks suitable for the fussiest family member of any size. Our ingredients are carefully selected to naturally help your dog with ailments such as diabetes, arthritis, brain function/development, gas, bad breath and poor coat.
